Educational Computing Program

Your child will live in a digital world. The Educational Computing Program prepares them to navigate it with judgment — because digital literacy is as fundamental today as reading and writing.

What is the Educational Computing Program?

The Educational Computing Program is Brighton’s comprehensive approach to digital literacy, delivered in a bicultural Spanish-English setting. With a progressive curriculum starting in preschool, it grows with the student in depth and complexity throughout their entire school journey. It doesn’t teach students to use computers — it teaches them to think and act intelligently in the digital world.

The program runs progressive lessons adapted to each level. In preschool and lower primary, students explore digital tools, create simple content and build responsible-use habits. In upper primary, they deepen basic coding, digital research and content production. In secondary, the program addresses computational thinking, artificial intelligence and critical digital citizenship. Each stage builds on the previous one: a student who reaches secondary with solid foundations arrives with a real advantage.

Why it matters

Digital literacy is as fundamental today as reading and writing. A young person who cannot critically navigate the digital world, use tools purposefully and protect their online identity is at a real disadvantage, regardless of the career they choose. The Educational Computing Program does not train technicians: it prepares people who understand the world they live in and know how to act in it with judgment — and they do so in two languages.

Connection to the educational model

The Educational Computing Program is the operational vehicle for the educational model’s pillar of strategic technology use: technology should help students research better, think better, create better and learn better. The program makes this systematic and progressive from preschool, and its bicultural nature connects it both to the Technology Ecosystem and to Brighton’s bicultural Spanish-English education.
